Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room
Job Summary:
As an RN in the Emergency Room, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced and high-stress environment. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide immediate medical treatment to patients with varying degrees of illness and injury.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Triage and prioritize patients based on their condition and severity of illness or injury
2. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians
3. Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and condition
4. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
5. Educate patients and their families on health conditions and treatment options
6. Document all patient interactions, assessments, and treatments in medical records
7. Participate in emergency preparedness training and drills
8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the emergency room
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certification preferred
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, critical decisions
6. Strong assessment and triage skills
7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
8. Proficient in electronic medical records and medical equipment
